Comments on the PBNP EA and FONSI
- Terry, NextEra comments on the Point Beach Nuclear Plant (PBNP), Units 1 and 2 - Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact Related to the Proposed Extended Power Uprate (TAC Nos. ME1044 and ME1045) are as follows:
- 1. NextEra is in agreement with the conclusions of this report, specifically Tables 1 and 2 and the draft finding of no significant impact.
- 2. NextEra would like to suggest that the content of Enclosures 1 and 2 of NextEra letter number NRC 2010-0039 dated May 13, 2010 be considered in this report. Specifically:
- 1. Page 4 and 9, discussion is based on no expansion of parking lots, equipment lay-down areas, etc. The supplemental environmental report in Appendix D of Attachment 5 to LAR 261 was revised by Enclosure 2 of the above letter.
- 2. Page 5 and 11 - The fall 2011 modifications will need an approximate 888 additional truck deliveries per Enclosure 1 of the above letter versus the 774 additional truck deliveries indicated.
Note, consideration of the above comments does not change the conclusion of the finding of no significant impact.
