Dear Commissioners and Staff:
By letter dated November 23, 2009, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) submitted an application to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for the renewal of Facility Operating Licenses DPR-80 and DPR-82, for Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP) Units 1 and 2, respectively. The application included the license renewal application (LRA), and Applicant's Environmental Report -
Operating License Renewal Stage.
On January 4, 2011, a telephone conference between the NRC and representatives of PG&E was held to obtain clarification on the PG&E's response to request for additional information (RAI) submitted to the NRC in PG&E Letter DCL-1 0-126, "Response to NRC Letter dated September 1, 2010, Request for Additional Information (Set 22) for the Diablo Canyon License Renewal Application," dated September 30, 2010, regarding the Structures Monitoring Aging Management Program.
PG&E's supplemental information to the RAI response for which the staff requested information is provided in Enclosure 1. PG&E revises a commitment in the amended LRA Table A4-1, License Renewal Commitments, shown in Enclosure 2.
LRA Amendment 38 is included in Enclosure 2 showing the changed pages with line-in/line-out annotations. Enclosures 1 and 2 supersede previously submitted information regarding the Structures Monitoring Aging Management Program.

PG&E Letter DCL-11-006 Page 1 of 1 PG&E Supplement to Telephone Conference Call Held on January 4, 2011, Concerning Response to Request for Additional Information (RAI) Submitted to the NRC in PG&E Letter DCL-10-126, "Response to NRC Letter dated September 1, 2010, Request for Additional Information (Set 22) for the Diablo Canyon License Renewal Application," Dated September 30, 2010, Regarding the Structures Monitoring Aging Management Program By Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) Letter DCL-10-126, dated September 30, 2010, PG&E responded to follow-up RAI B2.32-4 regarding Units 1 and 2 spent fuel pool leakage. In the response, PG&E committed to performing a one-time video inspection of the Unit 2 leak chase during the period of extended operation.
During a telephone conference call on January 4, 2011, between the NRC staff and PG&E, the NRC requested a clarification of the specific schedule of the one-time video inspection.
PG&E will revise its previous commitment to conduct a one-time video inspection of the Unit 2 leak chase within one year prior to the period of extended operation. See amended License Renewal Application Table A4-1 in Enclosure 2.
