SRM CHANNEL FUNCTIONAL TEST - MONTHLY 1.0 PURPOSE The purpose of this procedure is to verify SRM channel count rates as required by Technical Specifications 4.9.2.c.1, 4.9.2.c.2, 4.9.2.c.3 and 4.3.7.6.c.
2.0 PREREQllSITES 2.1 Permission to perform this test has been obtained from the SM/eRS as indicated by the completion of Attachment 1, Section 1.0.
2.2 All personnel performing any steps in this procedure should complete, Section 3.0 prior to performing any part of this procedure.
2.3 The NCO has been informed that the following test is to be performed and the following alarms, indications and functions will be observed:
2.3.1 Alarms None 2.3.2 Indications As listed on Attachment 2.
2.3.3 Functions None 2.4 Plant is in operating condition 2,3,4 or 5.
2.5 No other testing or maintenance is in progress that will adversely affect the performance of this test.
2.6 SRM is fully inserted.

PSEG Internal Use Only HC.OP-ST.SE-0005(Q) 3.0 PRECAUTIONS AND LIMITATIONS 4.0 3.1 Precautions 3.1.1 IF at any time during the perfonnance of this test a step cannot be completed OR is observed to be unsatisfactory, immediately NOTIFY the NCO and the SM/eRS. [CD-927E]
3.1.2 Channel count rate must be at least 3 CPS prior to control rod withdrawal. __
3.2 Limitations 3.2.1 All steps of this procedure are to be completed in sequence unless otherwise specified.
3.2.2 The following exceptions to SRM count rate may be taken in Operational Condition 5.
NOTE 3.2.2.A and 3.2.2.B The requirement to verify the SRM count rate is at least 3 cps prior to and at least once per 12 hours1.388889e-4 days <br />0.00333 hours <br />1.984127e-5 weeks <br />4.566e-6 months <br /> during CORE ALTERATIONS, and at least once per 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> is not required during these conditions.
A.
During a SPIRAL UNLOAD, the count rate may drop below 3 cps when the number of assemblies remaining in the core drops to sixteen or less.
B.
During a SPIRAL RELOAD, up to four fuel assemblies may be loaded in the four bundle locations immediately surrounding each of the four SRMs prior to obtaining 3 cps. Until these assemblies have been loaded, the 3 cps count rate is not required.
3.2.3 ENSURE compliance with Technical Specification 3.9.2 while performing this surveillance.

5.2 ENSURE that all prerequisites have been satisfied lAW Section 2.0.
5.3 ENSURE Attachment 1, Section 1.0 of the SM/CRS Data and Signature Sheet has been completed AND Regular Surveillance OR Retest is indicated.
5.4 ENTER SRM channel readings for conditions WITH SRM detector fully inserted to normal detector position on Attachment 2 AND INITIAL.
5.5 LOG test end time in the Control Room log(s).
5.6 SUBMIT this procedure to the 8M/CRS for review AND completion of Attachments I.
