OF THE DAVIS-BESSE NOVEMBER 16, 2010, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE REACTOR PRESSURE VESSEL HEAD REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Dear Mr. Allen:

On November 16, 2010, the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting at the Region III Office, located at 2443 Warrenville Road, Suite 210, Lisle, Illinois. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss your plans for the replacement of the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station reactor pressure vessel head.

Mr. Patrick Louden, Acting Deputy Director, Division of Reactor Safety, Region III, opened the meeting with an introduction of NRC officials, and the reason for the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss your planned reactor vessel closure head replacement project. Your presentation addressed the reactor vessel closure head replacement project organization, design features and responsibilities, and current status.
