TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE REQUEST - REVIEW OF SEABROOK STATION REQUEST FOR PARTIAL EXEMPTION FROM SEARCH REQUIREMENTS (TAC NO. L24484)

The Division of Spent Fuel Storage and Transportation (SFST), NMSS, requests technical assistance from the Division of Security Policy (DSP), NSIR, for the completion of the following project:

PROJECT: Security Evaluation on the exemption request to the Seabrook Station Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) Security Requirements.

DOCKET NO: 50-443, 72-63 TAC NO: L24484 LICENSE NO: NPF-86 REQUESTED ACTION: NMSS/SFST requests that NSIR/DSP review the attached Seabrook Station Request for Partial Exemption from Search Requirements for Entry into Dry Fuel Storage Area (ADAMS, ML103090273). Based on the results of your review, prepare a Security Evaluation documenting the staffs reasons for approving or denying the proposed changes.

To facilitate this request, we ask that you respond by April 30, 2011. Should any additional information be needed from the applicant to support your review, we ask that you transmit a draft Request for Additional Information to us by January 31, 2011. The applicant will normally be allowed two months to provide a response. The SFST project manager will keep your staff informed of any schedule changes.
