Miranda, Attached is a copy of revision 0 of surveillance requirement 3.8.3.3 which tests fuel oil chemistry. This is part of license amendment 135/135 which created the improved tech specs for both units. These pages come directly from ITS bases 3.8.3. It can be seen that the statement to use a 500ml sample size rather than one gallon was included in this LA and therefore has been approved by the NRC. This should answer the NRC's query. You should contact Terry about who to forward this to.
