MAINE YANKEE APPLICATION FOR NRC CONSENT TO INDIRECT LICENSE TRANSFER (TAC L24452)
Dear Mr. Connell:
By letter dated June 17, 2010, Maine Yankee Atomic Power Corporation (Maine Yankee) notified the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) of the pending acquisition of Maine &
Maritimes Corporation (M&M), the parent of MPS, by BHE Holdings, Inc. (BHE). Maine Yankee holds a possession only license for an Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) located in Wiscasset, Maine, and is the sole licensee for the ISFSI. MPS does not directly own an interest in the ISFSI, and MPS is not a licensee but holds a 5.0% interest in Maine Yankee, the ISFSI licensee. Enclosed is the Safety Evaluation Report determining that the proposed acquisition and merger does not constitute a transfer for the NRC review.
