RE: Upcoming AMP Audit

Kim/Nate, Attached is a proposed AMP Audit breakout schedule that I created for your review. There is a separate tab for each day of the two audit weeks. I have identified the AMP, AMP breakout support personnel for DCPP, and the location. I am sure there will have to be some revisions to accommodate the NRC reviewer availability conflicts due to review subjects and walkdowns.

As for level of access needed for walking down components, the example of fuel oil is all inside the PA, but outside the RCA. It would best if we could discuss some details on what types of things the reviewers will want to see in the plant to be able to determine if they will need RCA access. For example in the Fire Protection system, there is piping and sprinklers we can get access outside the RCA, but the Fire Water Storage Tank is in an RCA.

Thank you, Philippe Soenen Pacific Gas & Electric 142 Cross St. Suite 200 San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 Office: 805.781.9782 Cell: 805.459.3701 From: Green, Kimberly [2]

Upcoming AMP Audit Terry and Philippe,

2 Attached is the proposed AMP audit assignment. As you'll see, the AMP will be conducted over two weeks.

The reviewers' names are listed along with the week that they will be attending and the AMPs that are assigned for review. I'm still checking on Merrilee Banic. Once I know about her attendance, Nate or I will email the final list. This should be a really good start so that you can notify your program owners and SMEs about attendance.

I still need to develop a breakout schedule as well as a walkdown schedule. The reviewers will verify/confirm some of the information regarding the programs via walkdowns. I realize there may be some scheduling constraints, so if you have any recommendations, please let me know. I also realize that this spreadsheet doesn't tell you which NRC reviewer is reviewing which AMP. We will get that information to you early next week. Maybe you can help me out with this--if a reviewer wanted to do a walkdown of a component, e.g., fuel oil tank for the Fuel Oil Chemistry Program, which areas he will need to enter (PA vs. RCA)? The structures reviewers will likely want to go into all buildings except containment, obviously. They'll also want to see the intake structure. The electrical guys will want to see the switchyard, MEBs, and such. Obviously, we'll have to abide by any safety/operating constraints. For the other programs (fire protection, fire water, open cycle and closed cycle cooling water, selective leaching, etc.) that do NOT involve going into containment, which areas will require entry? Philippe, these walkdowns will be similar to those conducted at Palo Verde, if that helps.

Please note that AMPs B2.1.15 and B2.1.37 will not be reviewed on site during the audit. These AMPs will be reviewed at HQ.

We plan to work Monday through Thursday, about 10 hours1.157407e-4 days
0.00278 hours
1.653439e-5 weeks
3.805e-6 months
each day so that we can depart SLO on Friday.

We plan to have the inbrief on Monday morning at 8:30 and the final debrief on Thursday at 4:30. Several persons will stay later than 4:30 on Thursday. If any of the times or days change, I'll let you know as soon as possible.

I have notified everyone who will be attending the audit to provide the required information to Cindy Korthuis by April 1, 2010. I will send her the list of names and access soon. All access will be escorted access. However, Nate, Matthew Homiack, and I have all taken site access training this past week, so we will have "good guy" letters send to Cindy. Nate and I might have to participate during the Regional Inspection in August, so we would like to get unescorted access.

I am out of the office starting today, but Nate can help with finalizing the details. He'll be attending the first week of the audit. Please send any emails to me and Nate. I will check emails throughout today.

Thanks, Kim
