My name is Drew Stuyvenberg and I'm the project manager for the NRC's environmental review of the proposed Diablo Canyon license renewal. I'm pleased that we'll have an opportunity to meet with you directly this coming Thursday.

Thank you for taking the time to meet with us.

Jeff Rikhoff had indicated to me that you would like us to put together an agenda for the meeting. Attached you'll find a proposed, high-level agenda. Please feel free to add, expand, or modify any items that I may have neglected to include or address.

Also, please let us know whether we need to make any arrangements for building access or parking, including whether we should plan to park at the hotel and take a taxi to your location. I seem to recall that parking can be tight in downtown Sacramento.

Thanks, greatly, for your time, and I look forward to meeting you on Thursday.

Best regards, Drew From: Stratton, Susan [SSTRATTON@parks.ca.gov]

Hi Susan,

There will be 4 of us (Project Manager, Contractor Archaeologist from Argonne National Lab., myself, and a new NRC employee trainee [whose part Ojibwa]). I think it would take about an hour no more than two.

Thanks,

jeff

Hi Jeff,

No one from the office will be able to make the Diablo Canyon tour on the 26th. In looking at various calendars for the meeting on either the 28th or 29th, how much time do you anticipate for this meeting and total number of people comprising your team? I need to check schedules and arrange for a meeting room.

Thanks,

RE: Section 106 Consultation for License Renewal for Diablo Canyon - NRC090303A Importance: High

Hi Susan,

I just wanted to follow up with you regarding our conversation last week. We are in the process of finalizing our travel plans today and want to confirm that you and your staff will be available to meet with us next week on Wednesday, April 28. We also need to know as soon as possible if someone from your office will be attending the archaeological tour of the Diablo Canyon Power Plant and transmission lines in San Luis Obispo County on Monday, April 26, because we will need to arrange site access for this person.

Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you, and hope we can meet with you next week.

Thanks,

jeff

Susan Stratton, Cultural Resources Program (Supervisor)

Senior State Archaeologist (916) 651-0304

Susan,

I very much enjoyed talking with you and appreciate the information you provided on the California Native American Heritage Commission. We are in the process of beginning our consultation with your office on the proposed relicensing of Diablo Canyon Power Plant under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended (16 USC 470), and Federal Advisory Council on Historic Preservation regulations (36 CFR 800). We invite you and/or a member of your staff to attend an archaeological tour of the Diablo Canyon Power Plant and transmission lines in San Luis Obispo County on Monday, April 26, beginning at 8:00 AM.

We also look forward to meeting with you and members of your staff in Sacramento on Wednesday, April 28 or Thursday, April 29. Let us know what time in the morning or afternoon would be best.

Per your request, I've attached the schedule for the archaeological tour of Diablo Canyon Power Plant and transmission lines in San Luis Obispo County. We hope someone from your office will be able to join us on the tour. Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

jeff
