ARKANSAS NUCLEAR ONE - UNIT 2 - WITHDRAWAL OF AN AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NO. ME4537)

Dear Sir or Madam:

By letter dated August 19, 2010 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML102320053), Entergy Operations Inc. (Entergy) applied for an emergency amendment to the Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 2, Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-6. Currently, Technical Specification (TS) 3.8.1.1, "AC Sources," requires an inoperable Emergency Diesel Generator to be restored to service within 14 days or actions to place the unit in a shutdown condition initiated. With the emergency amendment, Entergy requested a one-time extension of the current 14-day allowed outage time to not more than 18 days.

Subsequently, by letter dated August 22, 2010, Entergy withdrew its amendment request. The subject withdrawal letter is not yet available in ADAMS.

The purpose of this letter is to advise that the Entergy submittal dated August 19, 2010, is being treated as withdrawn, based on your letter dated August 22, 2010. Notice of Consideration of Issuance of the proposed amendment had not been published in the Federal Register.
