- NON EMERGENCY The following was received via E-mail:
"On January 4, 2010, five Green Sea Turtles were retrieved from the plant's intake canal. The turtles were stunned due to the unusually cold weather and seawater intake temperatures. The turtles will be sent to a rehabilitation facility for recovery. Per the plant's turtle permit, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC) was notified at 1255 EST. This non-emergency notification is being made pursuant to 10CFR50.72(b)(2)(xi) due to the notification of the FWCC."
The licensee notified the NRC Resident Inspector. Both units were operating at 100% rated thermal power at the time of the report.
Notified R2DO (Payne) and NRR Endangered Species Group via email.
