- NON EMERGENCY On 01/11/2010 at 0848 hrs EST the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC) was notified that a manatee was located in the Intake Canal. This non-emergency notification is being made pursuant to 10 CFR 50.72(b)(2)(xi) due to the notification of FWCC. The manatee appears to be injured and is caught in the plant intake net.
Removal/release will be coordinated and conducted under FWCC supervision.
This notification also includes requirements per St. Lucie APPENDIX B-PART II ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PLAN (NON-RADIOLOGICAL) TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS, Section 4.1, Unusual or Important Environmental Events.
This is a 72 hr notification for unusual occurrence of any species protected by the Endangered Species Act of 1973.
