RE: Hearing on Plymouth MA Pilgrim Nuclear PlantlEntergy Dear Ms. Wheeler; I have been requested to respond to your e-mail to Perry Buckburg of the NRC staff.
The Licensing Board has indicated that the hearing will be held during the weeks of April 7 or April 14, 2008. An exact date has not yet been chosen. A venue for the hearing has not been selected. Prior the hearing, the Licensing Board will issue an Order specifying the date and place of the hearing.
Regarding your desire to speak at the hearing, this is an adjudicatory hearing.
Therefore, the practice is that only the admitted parties, their representatives and their witnesses be permitted to participate in the hearing. For information regarding hearing practice before the NRC, please refer to the Commission's regulations at 10 C.F.R. Part 2. The regulations may be found on the NRC website at: http://ww.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/cfr/.
Comments from the public in the form of limited appearances were taken by the Board several months ago, pursuant to 10 C.F.R. 2.315(a), "Participation by a person not a party." Any further limited appearances by a member of the public is in the discretion of the Licensing Board, as stated in 10 C.F.R 2.315(a).
