u.s. Department of Homeland Security FEMA Region 6 800 North loop 288 Denton, TX 76209-3698 FEMA Enclosed is a copy of the radiological emergency preparedness final report for the South Texas Project (STP) medical services drill evaluated on March 11,2010, by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Region 6. My staff evaluated the Matagorda Emergency Medical Services and Palacios Community Medical Center. One area requiring corrective action was identified during the drill and it is included in the report.
Based on the results of the drills, the offsite radiological emergency response plans and preparedness for the State of Texas and the affected local jurisdictions are deemed adeqnate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measnres can be taken to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological emergency. Therefore, 44 CFR Part 350 approval oftbe offsite radiological emergency response plans and preparedness for the State of Texas site-specific to STP will remain in effect.
