SUBJECT:

OPERATOR LICENSING EXAMINATION SCHEDULE CHANGE - ST. LUCIE UNITS 1 AND 2, DOCKETS 50-335 AND 50-389

Dear Mr. Anderson:

The purpose of this letter is to confirm the changes you requested by letter dated June 16, 2010, for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) initial license exams in 2011 and 2012 at the St. Lucie Plant. Mr. Phil Capehart, Operations Engineer, verified the changes your staff had requested via a telephone call with Mr. Seth Duston, St. Lucie Plant Training Manager, on June 21, 2010.

The Region II Operator Licensing Branch can support the following start dates for the 2011 and 2012 operating examinations, including the listed number of applicants:

February 21, 2011 (18 applicants)

April 16, 2012 (14 applicants)

Following discussions with your staff, the NRC examination team will conduct the on-site preparation for the April 16, 2012, examination during the week of March 12, 2012.

The NRC issues an annual regulatory issue summary (RIS) to inform addressees of the NRC staffs need for updated information on the projected schedules for site-specific operator licensing examinations and on the estimated numbers of applicants planning to take operator licensing examinations and the NRCs generic fundamentals examinations (GFEs). This information assists the NRC in scheduling examinations to use its resources more effectively.

The confirmed changes in this letter should be reflected in your response to the next RIS using NRC Form 536, Operator Licensing Examination Data.
