Byron Station Community Outreach 3 9 In 2009, Byron Station and its employees donated approximately

$250,000 to local charities, civic groups and worthwhile causes, including:

  • Employees donated $162,000 to the United Way
  • Byron Station donated $17,500 to the Byron Public Library for an interactive energy display for its new building
  • Scholarships for students at Byron, Oregon and Stillman Valley High Schools totaling $3,000
  • Donated $10,000 total to the Winnebago, Oregon and Rockford youth robotics teams
  • Ogle County Habitat for Humanity - $2,500
  • Blackhawk Council Boy Scout membership drive - $1,500
  • Sponsor of the Byron Fest stage - $3,500
  • At the Stations Childrens Christmas party, employees collected hundreds of pounds of food for a local pantry and donated $1,200 to Toys-for-Tots
  • Donated nearly $10,000 to various walks, pledge drives and golf benefits
