Dear Mr. Dwyer:
Thank you for contacting the Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (DAHP). I have reviewed the materials you provided for this project. In order to complete our review we request that the Federal Lead Agency conduct a thorough investigation of the Washington State University Modified TRIGA Nuclear Radiation Center Reactor. As you may already know, the Keeper of the National Register recently added a similar facility located on the campus of the University of Washington. Please have your consultant provide DAHP with a cultural resource survey along with a Historic Property Inventory for this undertaking. A list ofqualified consultant,> is available on our website.
I would appreciate receiving any correspondence or comments from concerned tribes or other parties that you receive as you consult under the requirements of 36CFRS00.4(a)(4) and the survey report when it is available. These comments are based on the information available at the time of this review and on behalf of the State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The SHPO is the executive in charge at DAHP.
Please note that DAHP requires that all historic property inventory and archaeological site forms be provided to our office in PDF format on a labeled CD along with an unbound paper copy. For further information please go to http://www.dahp.wa.gov/documents/CR_ReportPDF _Requirement.pdf.
Thank you for the opportunity to review and comment. Ifyou have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
