SUMMARY
OF APRIL 15, 2010, PRE-APPLICATION MEETING WITH NORTHERN STATES POWER COMPANY - MINNESOTA, TO DISCUSS FUTURE EXTENDED POWER UPRATE LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NOS. ME3537 AND ME3538)
On April 15, 2010, a Category 1 public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of Northern States Power Company - Minnesota, at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the future extended power uprate (EPU) license amendment request for the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, Units 1 and 2. A list of attendees is provided as an enclosure.
The licensee presented information (See Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML101060478), which consisted of some background information on the EPU project, a project overview including the project organization and schedule, a discussion of the major modifications planned, and the licensing principles and approach they will follow with respect to the license amendment request. The licensee plans to submit the EPU license amendment request in April of 2011.
Members of the public participated by teleconference. Public Meeting Feedback forms were not received.
