NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 05000286/2010008, ENTERGY NUCLEAR
OPERATIONS, INC., HOLTEC MANUFACTURING DIVISION, TURTLE CREEK,
Dear Mr. Pollock:
On April 20 - 21,2010, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a safety
inspection at the Holtec Manufacturing Division, 200 Braddock Avenue, Turtle Creek,
Pennsylvania of activities authorized by the above listed NRC license. The inspection was
limited to a review of Indian Point Energy Center's oversight of the welding, nondestructive
examination testing, and qualifications/certifications of personnel involved with the fabrication of
the shielded transfer cask for Unit 3. The findings of the inspection were discussed with Joe
DeFrancesco of your organization at the conclusion of the inspection. The enclosed report
presents the results of this inspection.
The inspection examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to compliance
with the Commission's rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license. The
inspector reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed
personnel.
Based on the results of this inspection, no findings of significance were identified.
In accordance with 10 CFR Part 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter, its
enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room
or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRC's document system (ADAMS).
