FW: White House TMI issue Talking Points Diane/Neil, Not sure if you're the direct link to Beth Hayden for this, but there may need to be clarification on the last statement regarding "the radiation is no longer in progress." One, it's an absolute statement (and there is still "radiation" in the reactor building)... and two, it may be better to state that the "contamination event was terminated" or something along those lines.

RE: NRC TMI issue Talking Points Also, in case Robert Gibbs gets asked about this at the daily briefing, is NRC comfortable with him using the following?

The Administration is closely monitoring Three Mile Island and federal officials are in touch with state and local authorities.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is the lead on this and I refer you to them for more details. Reports tell us that approximately 150 workers were monitored for exposure to radiation and none of them approached or exceeded any exposure limit, we also know that there is no contamination outside of the reactor building.

An investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the event but the radiation is no longer in progress.
