Curing Time for the Containment Wall Opening with Tendons Mark:

I received responses for Kriss question of concrete curing time from the Senior Resident Inspectors for the concrete curing time between the new concrete pour and the application of retension of tendons during the Steam Generator and Reactor Head Replacement Projects. I surveyed the sites with tendons installed in the containment walls and domes in Region II.

1. Five sites in Region II to have tendons installed in the Containments.

A. Oconee 1, 2, and 3 B. Turkey Points 3 and 4 C. Crystal River 3 D. Summer 1 E. Vogtle 1 and 2

2. Concrete curing time between the concrete pour and retention of tendons A. Oconee 1, 2, and 3 3 days during the Steam Generator Replacement B. Turkey Point 3 and 4 7 days minimum during the Reactor Head Replacement C. Crystal River 3 Unknown yet, the original schedule of 7 days during this Steam Generator Replacement prior to the repair of the delaminated Containment wall 112
3. Summer 1 Steam Generators were replaced around 1994 and no Containment Wall was cut.
4. Vogtle 1 and 2 Steam Generators are in good condition now.
