Subject:

10 CFR 72.48, Changes, Tests, and Experiments - Biennial Summary Report

Reference:

Letter from Tennessee Valley Authority to Nuclear Regulatory Commission dated September 13, 2007, "Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN), Units 1, 2, and 3, 10 CFR 72.48, Changes, Tests, and Experiments

- Biennial Report" In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 72.48 (d)(2) Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is providing a summary report of implemented safety evaluations performed prior to September 13, 2005.

The above referenced letter addressed 10 CFR 72.48 evaluations/screenings performed, between September 13, 2005, which is the date of completion of the first loading of fuel for Dry Cask Storage and September 13, 2007. A site evaluation determined that TVA did not address changes made in accordance with 10 CFR 72.48 prior to September 13, 2005. During this time frame, only 10 CFR 72.48 screenings were performed. Therefore, to resolve the gap in reporting history, TVA is submitting this letter to acknowledge that 10 CFR 72.48 screenings were performed between June 29, 2005 and September 13, 2005. However, no summaries of 10 CFR 72.48 evaluations are supplied, because no 10 CFR 72.48 evaluations were performed during that time frame.
