MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - PUBLIC MEETING CATEGORY 1 REGULATORY/PRE-DECISIONAL ENFORCEMENT CONFERENCE - TURKEY POINT NUCLEAR PLANT, DOCKET NO. 50-250

Dear Mr. Nazar:

This letter confirms the telephone conversation between Mr. Robert Tomonto of your staff and Mr. Marvin Sykes of the NRC, on March 18, 2010, concerning a joint Regulatory and Pre-decisional Enforcement Conference, being conducted at your request, which has been scheduled for April 14, 2010, from 09:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (DST). The meeting notice, which provides additional details, is enclosed. The purpose of this Regulatory/Pre-Decisional Enforcement Conference is to discuss the safety significance of one preliminary greater than Green finding with two associated Apparent Violations (AVs) and the severity level of three AVs considered for potential Escalated Enforcement that were documented in NRC Inspection Report 05000250/2010008. All of these findings dealt with degradation of Boraflex neutron absorber material in the Turkey Point Unit 3 spent fuel pool (SFP) storage racks.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's AgencywideDocument Access and Management System (ADAMS).
