Dear Sir or Madam:
By letter dated January 14, 2010 (referenced above); Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy) submitted requests for exemption from specific requirements of 10CFR Part 73, "Physical Protection of Plants and Materials," for Arkansas Nuclear One (ANO). A teleconference was held at the request of Mr. Dennis Gordon of the NRC staff on January 21, 2010, concerning the requested exemption. Based on information provided in this teleconference, Entergy is withdrawing the requested exemption for item 4 in the referenced correspondence for the reason presented in the attachment to this submittal. Entergy is also providing additional information for itemr3 in the attachment to this submittal.
The information provided in the attachment to this letter is considered security-related information associated with physical protection of ANO, as described in 10CFR2.390(d)(1).
Accordingly, Entergy requests that the information provided in the attachment be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with the provisions of 10CFR2.390. There are no new commitments contained in this submittal. If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact me.
