ORDER EXTENDING THE EFFECTIVENESS PERIOD OF THE APPROVAL OF THE TRANSFER OF ZION NUCLEAR POWER STATIONS LICENSE This is to inform the Commission that an Order extending the effectiveness period of the approval of the transfer of license will be issued on or about March 12, 2010 to Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon).
On May 4, 2009, the NRC issued an Order approving transfer of facility operating license Nos.
DPR-39 and DPR-48 for Zion Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2, held by Exelon, to ZionSolutions, LLC. The order required the licensee to complete the transfer within 1 year from the issue date of the Order. The Order also required the licensee to provide written application with a good cause in case an extension is needed.
On January 26, 2010, the licensee requested an extension of 6 months to satisfy the effectiveness of the Order resulting from delays in completing financing related to the transfer.
The staff has considered the information presented and determined that the licensee has shown good cause for extending the effectiveness period of the May 4, 2009, Order to November 4, 2010.
