Dear Sir or Madam:

On January 21, 2010, Entergy Nuclear Operations Inc. (ENO), requested exemption from certain physical security requirements pursuant to 10 CFR 73.5 (Reference 1), for the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant (JAF). On February 2, 2010, JAF received a request for additional information from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff (Reference 2).

On February 17, 2010. in a conference call with JAF, the NRC provided clarification on the questions contained in Reference 2. JAF submits the attached responses to the request for additional information (RAI) questions, based on the clarifications provided in the conference call.

As described in Reference 1, JAF's current security program and the new security requirements that will be implemented by March 31, 2010, will provide continued assurance of public health and safety and common defense and security. The conclusion, that the requested exemption is authorized by law and will.not endanger life or property or the common defense and security, in accordance with 10 CFR 73.5, is unaffected by this response.

A Security-Related version of this letter requesting withholding from public disclosure, JAFP-10-0028, was signed and submitted to the NRC on February 25, 2010.
