GOVERNMENT TO GOVERNMENT MEETING
Dear Mr. Sawatzke:
As you know, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is responsible for licensing and regulation of the Monticello nuclear power plant located in Wright County, in Monticello, Minnesota. My staff, which carries out the NRCs inspection and enforcement program at the Monticello plant, would like to meet with you at your office for a brief, informational meeting.
The goal of the meeting would be to explain the NRCs role and mission, answer any questions you may have, and to establish a point of contact in the event you have questions in the future.
We would also like to introduce you to one of the NRC resident inspectors who lives in the community and works at the Monticello plant.
I plan to have one of our Regional Government Liaisons (Allan Barker and Harral Logaras) contact you soon to establish a meeting date and time. In the meantime, please contact Harral Logaras at 630-829-9659 (or via email at Harral.Logaras@nrc.gov) if you have any questions.
