By letter dated October 23, 2009 (Reference 1) and as supplemented by letter dated November 17, 2009 (Reference 2), the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) submitted a request for amendment to the Technical Specifications (TS) for Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant, Unit 1. The amendment request proposed to add the AREVA NP analysis methodologies to the list of approved methods to be used in determining the core operating limits in the Core Operating Limits Report (COLR). Additional Technical Specification changes are also requested to reflect the AREVA NP specific methods Printed on reycled paper (,j

U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Page 2 February 2, 2010 for monitoring and enforcing of the thermal limits. In a letter dated December 23, 2009 (Reference 3), the NRC requested that supplemental information be provided by January 15, 2010. By letter dated January 15, 2010 (Reference 4),

TVA provided responses to the NRC request for supplemental information.

In the Reference 4 response, TVA identified that certain evaluations were being conducted and would not be available until March 2010. Accordingly, TVA is withdrawing Technical Specification Change TS-467 (Reference 1) and the associated non Extended Power Uprate (EPU) Supplement, TS-467-S, (Reference 2) at this time. If TVA decides to resubmit this change request, we will notify the NRC of the expected date.

There are no regulatory commitments in this submittal.
