SUMMARY
FOR REGULATORY CONFERENCE (EA-09-259)
On January 6, 2010, representatives of Exelon Generation Company, LLC, the licensee for Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2, met with NRC personnel in the Region III office located in Lisle, Illinois, to discuss the apparent violation identified in NRC Inspection Report Number 2009-007. The regulatory conference was held at the request of the licensee.
The purpose of the regulatory conference was to discuss the preliminary yellow finding regarding the failure of the B train containment sump suction isolation valve to fully open at Braidwood Station Unit 1.
The licensee presented a summary of the causes for the apparent violation and the associated corrective actions. The licensee did not present any new information other than the documents already provided to the NRC. The focus of the licensees presentation was that recovery credit should be given for manual actions that could be taken in the event of the loss of coolant accidents.
The attendance list is attached to this summary. Also, a copy of the licensees slides presented during the meeting can be found in Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) as ML100050639.
There were two members of the public present at this meeting via teleconference. In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this summary and its enclosure will be made available to the Public.
