REPLY TO NOTICE OF VIOLATION
Dear Mr. St. Pierre:
The purpose of this letter is to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated December 11, 2009, that responded to the Notice of Violation issued on November 12, 2009. The Notice of Violation was issued because you did not adequately establish measures to assure that regulatory requirements and the design basis for the B Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) were correctly translated into specifications and instructions during modifications to the B EDG right bank turbocharger. In your letter you documented the corrective actions you completed to restore compliance with the regulations and to ensure similar violations did not occur.
Thank you for informing us of your corrective actions for this matter. Your actions in addressing these issues are subject to future NRC inspection activities.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and your response dated December 11, 2009, will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the NRC's document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html(the Public Electronic Reading Room).
