This meeting is a Regulatory Conference where the licensee will present to the NRC their perspective on the facts and assumptions that the NRC used to arrive at a preliminary determination that an apparent violation and finding for the Braidwood Nuclear Generating Plant, Unit 1, appears to be of substantial safety significance (Yellow). The apparent violation and finding relates to the failure of the B Train Containment Sump Suction Valve to fully open on June 24, 2009, during testing and is described in detail in NRC Inspection Report 05000456/2009007 (ADAMS Accession No. ML0933405630).
The NRCs Policy Statement, Enhancing Public Participation in NRC Meetings, effective May 28, 2002, applies to this meeting.
