RESPONSE TO NOTICE OF VIOLATION EA-09-249 AND NRC INSPECTION

REPORT 05000244/2009008

Dear Mr. Carlin:

Thank you for your letter of December 9,2009, in response to our November 12, 2009, letter

and Notice of Violation concerning activities associated with a failure to preclude reoccurrence

of a significant condition adverse to quality associated with the turbine driven auxiliary feedwater

pump governor control valve, that led to a failure of the TDAFW pump to operate on

July 2, 2009. We have reviewed your reply and find it responsive to the concerns raised in our

Notice of Violation. We will review the implementation of your corrective actions during a future

inspection to determine that full compliance has been achieved and will be maintained.
