ULNRC-05670 December 10, 2009 Page 2 In regard to the RAJ(s), AmerenUE and WCNDC participated in a public phone call with the NRC on August 27, 2009 (as summarized per Reference 3). During that phone call, AmerenUE and WCNDC agreed to provide for NRC staff review a video of the testing performed by Alden Research Laboratory, Inc. (Alden) showing the separation of fibrous debris in a representative and conservative manner.
Pursuant to the phone call agreement and in accordance with 10 CFR 50. 54(f),
WCNDC submitted the video information in a letter dated November 4, 2009 (Reference 4). The letter provided video descriptions of the Alden testing in support of the AmerenUE and WCNDC RAI responses for GL 2004-02. Specifically, Enclosure I to the WCNDC letter provided a description of the transport tests performed, and Enclosures II and III provided the digital video disks (DVDs) of two transport tests. As stated in Enclosure I, the vendor testing that was performed supports both the WCNDC and AmerenUE responses to GL 2004-02.
By this letter, AmerenUE is requesting that the Reference 4 WCNDC letter and its attachments be added to the Callaway Plant docket to support AmerenUE's response to the NRC's GL 2004-02 RAJ.
No regulatory commitments are made to the NRC by this letter. If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact me at (314) 225-1054, or Mr. Scott Maglio at (573) 823-4970.
I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct.
