Subject:
Zion Station Units I and 2 Report on Zion /Indian Point Near Site Study NRC Docket Nos. 50-295 and 50-304 Reference (a):
May 28, 1980 letter from D. L. Peoples to H. R. Denton
Dear Mr. Denton:
Reference (a) transmitted a report covering the work performed by various consultants on behalf of Consolidated Edison, the Power Authority of the State New York, and Commonwealth Edison Company during the 60 day period of the subject study..
However, subsequent to the submittal of Reference (a)
Commonwealth Edison was informed that portions of that report were stamped "Westinghouse Proprietary Class 2", specifically the Westinghouse report entitled "Post Accident Containment Vent Sytem, Conceptual Design" by R. T. Marchese, A. D. Gray and H. T. Keller.
This report was included as Section 6 in the 60-day study report "Mitigation of Severe Accident Study Report Zion and Indian Point Nuclear Units" dated March, 1980.
Please be advised that the pages of the Westinghouse report were inadvertently stamped as "Proprietary, Class 2"1.
The Westinghouse report should-have been stamped as "Westinghouse Proprietary Class 3" (which indicates non-proprietary information) or not stamped at all.
Please consider the entire Westinghouse report as Westinghouse non-proprietary.
In addition, to avoid any future misunderstanding, Commonwealth Edison requests the NRC Staff to insert a copy of the attached clarification in front of the Westinghouse report in Section 6 of the 60 day report.
Please address any additional questions that you might have concerning this matter to this office.
