Per the requirements of IWA-1400(c) of the 2001 Edition of ASME Code Section XI with Addenda through 2003, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) hereby submits the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP) Unit 1 and 2 Third 10-Year Interval Inservice Inspection (ISI) Plan. One copy of the ISI Plan is being submitted on a compact disk. This plan will continue to be updated throughout the third ten-year ISI interval and is available for review upon request at VEGP, The VEGP ISI Plan consists of eight separate volumes which implement the Class 1, 2, and 3 ISI requirements including pressure testing as well as IWE and IWL. In SNC letter, dated April 15, 2009, to the NRC, VEGP submitted IS[
alternative VEGP-ISI-ALT-02, related to Risk Informed-ISI. The ISI Plan submittal being made by this letter does not include this ISI alternative, but will be updated to incorporate it at a later date. It should be noted that Volume 6 of the ISI Plan (IWE and IWL Containment Testing) does not require submittal to the NRC per 10 CFR 50.55a.
The Third Interval ISI Plan is a compilation of ISI related activities. Each volume of the collective plan is considered to be a stand-alone document with approval documentation for each volume. The enclosed ISI Plan consists of the following:
Volume 1: General Information Volume 2: Class 1, 2, and 3 ISI Examinations related to Vogtle -1 Volume 7: Class 1, 2, and 3 ISI Figures related to Vogtle -1 Volume 4: Class 1, 2, and 3 ISI Examinations related to Vogtle -2 Volume 8: Class 1, 2, and 3 ISI Figures related to Vogtle -2 Per teleconference on September 2, 2009, SNC will provide Volumes 3 and 5, Class 1, 2, and 3 Pressure Testing for Unit 1 and Unit 2 respectively, in a subsequent submittal
