Docket Nos. 50-272-LR

50-311-LR (Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1 and 2) )
_________________________________________ )
ORDER The New Jersey Environmental Federation and the Delaware Riverkeeper Network seek extensions of time to file hearing requests in the Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1 and 2 license renewal proceeding. The interested groups are requesting a 60-day extension of time, which would give them until February 22, 2010, to file hearing requests. The NRC Staff would not oppose the grant of a 16-day extension of time, which would afford the interested groups until January 7, 2010, to file hearing requests. The applicant would not oppose the grant of a 14-day extension of time, which would afford the interested groups until January 5, 2010, to file hearing requests.
I grant this request in part by extending the due date until January 7, 2010. Additional time is not warranted because the interested groups have had access to the license renewal application since September 8, 2009.
This Order is issued pursuant to my authority in 10 C.F.R. § 2.346(b).
