- NON EMERGENCY "This 4-hour Non-Emergency notification to the NRC is being made based on a notification to another government agency per 10CFR50.72(b)(2)(xi). On September 25, 2008 at 1511, the Control Room was notified that an American Crocodile was found deceased on the premises at Turkey Point. Injuries were consistent with those expected from experiencing road trauma.
Indications are that the baby crocodile was struck by a vehicle in a location other than where the carcass was discovered and was relocated to the point of discovery by a vulture. The crocodile was a 2008 unmarked hatchling. The carcass was photographed and taken to the Land Utilization laboratory for preservation. The carcass could not have any biometric data collected as it was partially predated. This incident is not considered causal to plant operations."
