Dear Chief:
QF-I am a concerned citizen living in eastern Tennessee and I wish to register my opposition to building (or continuing to build) the second reactor at Watts Bar. This reactor would use old technology, the ice condenser reactor, which is considered to have design flaws already. There is still no solution to the problem of storing nuclear waste. The Tennessee River is already overstressed and does not need additional warm water discharge and water lost from evaporative cooling. There is no guarantee that the demand for power would justify the cost of this plant by the time it is completed. The money would be better spent on less dangerous alternative energy technologies and energy conservation.
Sincerely, Yolande McCurdy Gottfried AdvLV
