NRC ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON REACTOR SAFEGUARDS
TO MEET NOV. 5-7 IN ROCKVILLE, MD.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commissions Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards
(ACRS) will hold a public meeting Nov. 5 to 7 in Rockville, Md., to discuss several issues of
current interest. Topics include: amendments to the AP1000 reactor design control document and
cybersecurity programs for nuclear facilities. In addition, the Committee will discuss the
Advanced Boiling-Water Reactor design as applied to the South Texas Project combined license
(COL) application and the NRC staffs plan for the STP COL application review.
The ACRS advises the Commission, independently from the NRC staff, on safety issues
related to the licensing and operation of nuclear power plants as well as those issues in the areas
of health physics and radiation protection.
The meeting will be held in Room T2-B3 at NRC Headquarters, in the Two White Flint
North building, at 11545 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Md. Sessions on Thursday, Nov. 5, and
Friday, Nov. 6, will run from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to
1:30 p.m.; portions of the meeting may be closed to discuss information classified as national
security, proprietary, organizational or personnel matters.
