MILLSTONE POWER STATION UNIT 2 SUPPLEMENT TO REQUEST RR-89-61 REVISION 2, ALTERNATIVE REPAIR AND MITIGATION REQUIREMENTS FOR STRUCTURAL WELD OVERLAYS In a letter dated July 23, 2009, Dominion Nuclear Connecticut, Inc. (DNC) requested U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review and approval of Request RR-89-61, Revision 2, for alternative requirements to apply dissimilar metal structural weld overlays (SWOLs) at Millstone Power Station Unit 2 (MPS2). This letter provides supplemental information to describe the SWOLs already installed during the MPS2 Refueling Outage 18 (2R18) in spring 2008, and those SWOLs which are planned to be installed during 2R19 in fall 2009. Table 1 below also identifies the two SWOLs that were deferred from 2R18 to 2R19 due to considerations of dose, and two previously planned SWOLs that no longer are planned for 2R1 9 because the locations were determined to be inspectable.

Notes:
- 1. These four (4) SWOLs were installed during 2R1 8 using provisions of the Revision 1 to Request RR-89-61.
- 2. These nine SWOLs are planned for 2R19.
- 3. The location is inspectable with Code-compliant ultrasonic testing (UT) techniques.
Consequently, this SWOL is no longer planned.
- 4. As-Low-As-Reasonably-Achievable dose considerations prompted DNC to modify the schedule plans for these two SWOLs from 2R1 8 to 2R1 9.
