Fire testing at NIST
- Steve, During the last FAQ public meeting conducted by NRR, a member of the industry expressed some concern about not being informed of cable fire testing that is currently being conducted by our Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research (RES). This email is to let you know that the agency had previously communicated this testing to the industry and public.
For your information, during last year's NEI 2008 FPIF forum RES made a presentation (look at Slide 12 of the presentation given during Plenary 6, Session 1) that spoke about this testing.

In addition, during the 2009 RIC the RES organization communicated to the industry and public about plans to conduct such testing via a poster and information sheet. The poster can be found at our public website at http://www.nrcric.org/past/2009/index.asp and the information sheet at ML090910127.
