DUANE ARNOLD ENERGY CENTER, INFORMATION REQUEST FOR AN NRC LICENSE RENEWAL INSPECTION
Dear Mr. Costanzo,
On November 2, 2009, the NRC will begin a license renewal inspection at the Duane Arnold Energy Center. This inspection will be performed in accordance with the NRC Inspection Procedure IP 71002. The on-site portion of the inspection will take place on November 2-6, 2009, and November 16-20, 2009.
The lead inspector for this inspection is Benny Jose. We understand that our regulatory contact for this inspection is Mr. Kenneth Putnam of your organization, who can be reached at (319) 851-7238.

Experience has shown that these inspections are extremely resource intensive, both for the NRC inspectors and the applicant staff. In order to minimize the inspection impact on the site and to ensure a productive inspection for both parties, we would like to request the documents needed for the inspection. In order to ensure the inspection team is adequately prepared for the inspection, please provide a copy of the original license renewal application and include any amendments to the application submitted after October 1, 2008. The lead inspector will coordinate with your staff to determine what additional information the team will review, or need access to, during or before the on-site inspection. It is important that all documents provided are up to date and complete. This information should be made available via compact disc to the Region III Office no later than October 16, 2009.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the
