OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL HELD ON JULY 22, 2009, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND ENTERGY NUCLEAR OPERATIONS, INC., CONCERNING THE INDIAN POINT NUCLEAR GENERATING UNIT NOS. 2 AND 3, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION - BURIED PIPING AND TANKS INSPECTION PROGRAM The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc., (Entergy or the applicant) held a telephone conference call on July 22, 2009, to discuss consideration of recent operating experience related to the Buried Piping and Tanks Inspection Program for Indian Point Nuclear Generating Unit Nos. 2 and 3.

By e-mail dated July 21, 2009, from Kimberly Green, NRC, to Michael Stroud, Entergy, the staff transmitted questions concerning future inspections of buried piping within the scope of license renewal at Indian Point Units 2 and 3, for Entergys consideration and discussion during the telephone conference call.

The telephone conference call sought information regarding the proposed aging management program as described in the applicants license renewal application in light of recent operating experience, and the leak that occurred in February 2009.

The applicant stated that it plans to revise its Buried Piping and Tanks Inspection Program to consider the recent operating experience and will send a letter to the NRC within the next week.

The enclosure provides a listing of the participants.

The applicant had an opportunity to comment on this summary.
