Dear Mr. Meyer:

This letter confirms the plans as discussed between me and Ms. Fritzie Flentje of your staff for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and NextEra Energy Point Beach to meet and discuss the progress on actions taken to address substantive cross-cutting issues and to discuss the results of an independent assessment of the effectiveness of corrective actions taken in response to nuclear safety culture surveys conducted at Point Beach in 2004, 2006, and 2008. The meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at the NRCs Region III office at 2443 Warrenville Road, Suite 210, Lisle, IL 60532. This meeting will be open to the public.
