SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT: DISCRIMINATION AGAINST A SECURITY OFFICER FOR REPORTING A SAFETY CONCERN (CASE No. 2-2008-026)

Dear Mr. Campbell:

Enclosed for your information is the synopsis of the Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRC)

Office of Investigations (OI) completed report regarding the alleged discrimination against a security officer for reporting safety concerns.

OI determined that there was insufficient evidence to substantiate the allegation that a security officer for Pinkerton Government Services, Incorporated (Pinkerton) at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (Sequoyah) was discriminated against for reporting a safety concern. We plan no further action with regard to this matter. Should you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact us.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS). Investigative Synopsis OI Case No. 2-2008-026

SYNOPSIS This investigation was initiated on February 27, 2008 by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Office of Investigations (OI), Region II (RII), to determine whether a security officer for Pinkerton Government Services Incorporated (Pinkerton) at the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (Sequoyah) was discriminated against for reporting a safety concern.

Based on the evidence developed, the investigation did not substantiate the allegation that a security officer for Pinkerton Government Services, Incorporated (Pinkerton) at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (Sequoyah) was discriminated against for reporting a safety concern.
