Purpose:

The NRC requested an Annual Assessment Meeting with PPL to discuss the NRCs assessment of the safety performance of the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station for calendar year 2008. The NRCs assessment is documented in a letter dated March 4, 2009.

Smith, General Manager, Site Preparedness and Services Public Participation: The Susquehanna Annual Assessment Meeting is a Category 1 Meeting.

The public is invited to observe this meeting and will have opportunities to communicate with the NRC staff following the business portion, before the meeting is adjourned. Several NRC representatives will also be available for an information session prior to the Annual Assessment Meeting with PPL. The information session is being provided to maximize

2 discussion with the public to ensure their issues and concerns may be presented, understood, and considered by the NRC.
