ULNRC05595 February 12, 2009 Initiatives Taken:

None.

Reportable Fitness For Duty Events Under 10CFR26.73:

None.

Reportable FFD events under 10CFR26 Appendix A Section 2.8:

On 11-19-2008, the Callaway Medical Review Officer discovered that a blind performance test result received from the HHS certified laboratory was not consistent with what was expected to be reported. The expected result for the blind performance specimen was adulterated and positive for THC. The report identified the specimen was positive for THC but did not identify that the blind performance specimen was adulterated.

Management Actions:

During the reporting period, seven short term contractors tested positive for Marijuana during a pre-access collection. One licensee employee tested positive for Marijuana during an "other" collection after a dilute specimen on their pre-access collection. One short term contractor tested positive for alcohol during a for cause test. Two short term contractors refused to provide a specimen during pre-access collections. All individuals were denied access to the plant.

Test Results:

Ameren UE Callaway Plant performs random testing of the workforce at an annual rate of at least 50% in accordance with 10CFR26.24.a.2. For the six months beginning July 1, 2008 and ending December 31, 2008 random screens were performed at a rate of 29.5% of the population.
