Purpose:
This is a meeting between the NRC and Northern States Power Company, Minnesota to discuss the significance associated with an apparent violation involving the licensees Prairie Island Plant shipment of radioactive material in October 2008. The apparent violation is discussed in Inspection Report 05000282/2008009; 05000306/2008009 and the preliminary significance appears to be of substantial safety significance (Yellow).
The NRCs Policy Statement, Enhancing Public Participation in NRC Meetings, effective May 28, 2002, applies to this meeting. The policy statement may be found on the NRC website, www.nrc.gov, and contains information regarding visitors and security.
