Primary System Piping Butt Weld Inspection and Evaluation Guideline (MRP-139); EPRI Product Number 1010087, Final Report, July 14,2005 As required in Reference (a), the purpose of this letter is to inform you of Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Inc. (Calvert Cliffs) deviation from the requirement in Reference (b) to perform ultrasonic examination of all Unit 2 Alloy 82/182 butt welds that are exposed to temperatures equivalent to reactor coolant cold leg temperatures by December 31, 2010. The deviation is applicable to eight 30-inch Alloy 82/182 butt welds located at the inlet and outlet of the reactor coolant pumps. The deviation will be in effect for approximately two months as the inspections are scheduled to occur during the Unit 2 2011 refueling outage (scheduled to start in February 2011). Attachment (1) provides an executive summary of the justification for the deviation.
