RE>-SFP Infor-h-tion-i With regards to the first question on DFS eligible candidate fuel assemblies:
We will have several additional assemblies meet their cooling time requirements on 9/14/08, so the base number will go up to! 57 intact assemblies eligible for DFS, assuming they all pass visual inspection.
This also assumes that we use the same cask design (with the type 2A basket) as the last campaign and still avoid loading failed fuel. With some additional analysis and UT exams, we could likely have enough assemblies to load three 24PTH cask (assuming they existed). I will look at other hypothetical scenarios and provide an update later today.
With regards to the second question on assemblies that could be moved into Region 2:
63 assemblies in Region 1 can be moved to Region 2. This includes 47 unrestricted +16 that would have to have the south pit flooded prior to moving.
We could add + 52 (= 115 total) recently discharged assemblies if we forego an internal administrative 18 month cooling time requirement.

SFP Information
- John, I got the information below from Sue Leblang. The second question (How much fuel in region I of the pool would meet requirements for transfer to region 2 of the pool?) I sent this to Rich Schmidt, but he is out this week. I will follow up with Tom Wiggins for that response.
- 1. How much, if any, fuel in the pool meets the requirements for placing in DFS today?
The number of fuel assemblies meeting the requirements is approximately 29. However:
We have no TN casks available to load, canisters must be ordered 2 years in advance of loading.
There are no extra Canisters or horizontal storage modules with TN or other users.
We cannot borrow casks from other Entergy sites to load our fuel into because they are HOLTEC or NAC casks. The leased equipment also becomes an issue. It is already booked for the majority of next year.
We have not yet placed our order for the 2011 loading campaign, but we will be doing this in the next month or so. I have been in touch with Rx Eng explaining that I need to know all the possible scenarios and the most probable ones so that I can make a recommendation to management on the. number of canisters to order.
Our current strategic plan and budget call for 5(120) this will not be enough if we lose spaces in the SFP or have to re-rack.
